The Tennyson Street Upgrade is a local road infrastructure project focused on improving safety, functionality and long-term performance for the surrounding community.

The project involved upgrades to the existing roadway and associated infrastructure to address pavement condition, drainage performance and overall streetscape quality. Works were carefully planned and managed to minimise disruption to residents while delivering a durable, high-quality outcome.

BASEC Engineering was appointed as the Principal’s Authorised Person (PAP) and Superintendent for the delivery of the project, providing independent oversight and contract administration on behalf of Council throughout all stages of delivery.

Project Scope

The scope of works included:

  • Road pavement rehabilitation and resurfacing

  • Kerb, gutter and stormwater drainage improvements

  • Footpath and verge reinstatement where impacted by construction

  • Line marking, signage and traffic management to maintain safe access

  • Contractor procurement, coordination and construction supervision

  • Contract administration and superintendent services

  • Work health and safety, environmental and quality management

  • Community and stakeholder communication during construction

  • Final inspections, defects management and asset handover

The project was delivered in accordance with relevant Council standards and best-practice project management principles, with a strong focus on safety, quality and minimising impacts to the local community. The upgraded infrastructure provides a safer, more resilient road environment with improved performance and longevity.
